Former President of the Colombian Maritime Law Association, full member of the International Maritime Committee (CMI) and the IWG on Lex Marítima. He is also a member of the Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission at ICC Colombia and serves on the Maritime Hull & Liabilities Committee of the Latin American Association of Marine Underwriters (ALSUM).
He was part of the expert working group that drafted the first version of Colombia’s Maritime Code proposal for the Colombian Maritime Authority (DIMAR). He holds an LL.M. in International Commercial and Maritime Law from Swansea University, UK (Distinction, 2009). His academic contributions include authorship of “Legal Aspects of Logistics and Logistics Services Contracts” (2014) and editorial leadership of “Perspectives on Maritime Law and Logistics” (2023).
He is an Arbitrator at the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, a Research Professor in Commercial Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia, and Director of the Logistics Observatory at the same university. Additionally, he is a Partner at Franco & Abogados Asociados. He also serves as the Director of the International Working Group on Trade Facilitation and Sustainability at the Center for Ocean Policy and Economics (USA) and is a BIMCO-certified trainer.

She has also served as a Professor at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, teaching courses related to cargo transportation, and as a Faculty Member in the Economic Law Department at Universidad Externado de Colombia.
Attorney from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a specialization in Customs and Foreign Trade Law from the same university. She holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies with an emphasis on Commercial and International Business Law from American University, Washington College of Law (USA). She has over ten years of experience representing the interests of both the private sector and the Colombian government. She served as a negotiator in the Customs Procedures and Trade Facilitation Group during the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between Colombia and the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
In recent years, she has worked as a legal advisor on the implementation and administration of the Colombia-U.S. FTA, providing specialized legal guidance to ProColombia and multiple Colombian companies exporting successfully to the U.S. market. She is a member of the Center for Tax Studies (CEF) at Universidad Externado de Colombia, the International Trade and Investment Law Society (ITILS) at American University, and the Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT).
Attorney from Universidad Libre de Colombia, currently pursuing an LL.M. in Private Law and Business Law at the same university. She has over three years of experience in litigation and legal consulting, with a primary focus on civil and commercial law.
